WINTER STORM WATCH FOR CENTRAL DOUGLAS COUNTY, NEIGHBORING COUNTIES

A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening above 2,500 feet for central Douglas County, eastern Curry County and Josephine and Jackson counties.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected above 2,500 feet. Total accumulations of up to 12 inches are possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 miles per hour.

The Watch area includes Butte Falls, the Tiller-Trail Highway, Dead Indian Memorial Road and portions of highways 62 and 140.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
