On Thursday, Dr. John Bailey of Oregon State University will make a presentation on Fuel and Fire Management in Western Oregon Forests.

It will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Jacoby Auditorium on the campus of Umpqua Community College.

Dr. Bailey’s presentation will focus on trends, causes and impacts of wildfire, and management strategies for more fire resistant and resilient forests. Dr. Bailey is a Professor of Silviculture and Fire Management in the Department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management at the OSU College of Forestry. He is the author or co-author of nearly 100 scholarly papers on various forest topics.

The presentation is co-sponsored by Communities for Healthy Forests, Umpqua Chapter of American Foresters, Douglas Small Woodland Owners Association and the UCC Forestry Club.
