WINTER STORM WATCH STARTING WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON ABOVE 2,500 FEET

February 26, 2024 3:20 p.m.  

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for central Douglas County, eastern Curry Country and Josephine and Jackson counties from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening above 2,500 feet.

An Urgent Weather Message from the National Weather Service said heavy snow is possible above that elevation, with up to 11 inches expected. Winds could gust as high as 45 miles per hour.

The Watch area includes Butte Falls, the Tiller-Trail Highway, Dead Indian Memorial Road and portions of highways 62 and 140.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
