UMPQUA HEALTH ALLIANCE INVESTS OVER $2 MILLION IN LOCAL PROJECTS

Umpqua Health Alliance has announced the allocation of more than $2 million to support five impactful projects initiated by local organizations within Douglas County.

A UHA release said the projects aim to enhance social and community health, promote economic stability, and provide essential housing supports for individuals and families in need.

UHA Chief Executive Officer Brent Eichman said he is proud of the organization’s commitment to investing in programs and services that directly benefit the health and well-being of both its members and the broader community. Eichman said, “By partnering with local organizations, Umpqua Health Alliance is dedicated to addressing the unique needs of Douglas County and fostering initiatives that contribute to the overall health and resilience of our community”.

The recipients of the latest UHA grants and their respective allocations are:

*Behavioral Health Transitional grant for Adapt of $829,868. This funding will support the acquisition, repair and renovation of a 50-unit facility to provide transitional housing for individuals with behavioral health needs.

*Resource Expansion Initiative grant for the Dream Center of $500,000. The organization’s program, aimed at assisting at-risk and vulnerable populations, will receive funding to expand its resources and develop programs to increase services from 800 to 1,200 individuals per month.

*Transitional Housing for Youth and Underserved Populations grant for Peace at Home in the amount of $398,068. Funding will be utilized to renovate and enhance existing facilities to offer low-barrier, affordable housing for individuals who have experienced trauma and abuse.

*Substance Use Disorder Transitional Recovery Lodge grant for Adapt of $250,000. This initiative focuses on remodeling a 12-unit facility into transitional housing for community members recovering from substance use disorder. Wrap-around services will be provided.

*Building Resilience During Transitions to Affordable Housing grant for NeighborWorks Umpqua of $34,500. Funding will assist low-income residents in covering rental deposits, moving expenses, furniture and food as they transition into permanent affordable housing.

The release said these grants underscore Umpqua Health Alliance’s commitment to supporting housing initiatives that address critical community needs and promote the overall well-being of Douglas County residents.
