In the KQEN Business Spotlight:

After many decades in downtown Roseburg, U.S. Bank has announced that its location at 619 Southeast Main Street will be closing soon. A sign outside the bank on Thursday said the branch would permanently close as of April 29th.

Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S. Bank has more than 2,000 branches located in 26 states. The company recently told federal regulators that it would shutter 23 branches, 7 of which are in Oregon. A branch consolidation line has been established to answer account holder questions. The U.S. Bank branch at 2080 Northwest Stewart Parkway in Roseburg is not on the closure list.

This is the fourth financial institution to exit the downtown area in recent years. Wells Fargo, Banner Bank and Cascade Community Credit Union have also closed their downtown branches.

News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN has reached out to U.S. Bank’s Corporate Communications Office seeking more information about the change. A follow-up story will provide more information when it becomes available.
