STATE POLICE JAIL MAN IN STOLEN VEHICLE CASE

A trooper with the Oregon State Police jailed a man in a stolen vehicle case on Friday.

Information from OSP released on Monday said at about 2:55 p.m. a traffic stop was made for a speed and lighting violation on Interstate 5 southbound in the Rice Valley area. The driver exited the vehicle and told the trooper that it had been stolen.

43-year-old Shane Hansen was taken into custody. The vehicle was reported to be stolen out of the St. Helens area. Hansen was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving under the influence of intoxicants and for a parole violation. Hansen was detained without bail.
