Roseburg Police jailed a man on theft charges on Monday.

An RPD report said at 4:30 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Southeast Stephens Street. They recognized 43-year-old Steven Campos Jr. as a passenger in the vehicle. Dispatch confirmed that there was a warrant for his arrest.

Campos was also charged with second-degree theft from a previous case. He was taken into custody.

At 10:00 p.m. an officer learned that Campos was in custody.  He contacted him regarding a previous case involving several thefts from a business in the 3300 block of Northwest Aviation Drive. The total value of the items that the suspect had reportedly stolen was over $1,000. Campos was charged with first-degree theft in that case as well.

Campos was detained on $5,000 bail.
