Roseburg Police responded to seven DUII incidents in 48 hours, between early Friday and early Sunday.
Information from RPD said at 2:30 a.m. Friday, officers stopped a 23-year-old man for an expired registration near the intersection of Northeast Jackson Street ant Northeast Freemont Avenue. The driver consented to standard field sobriety tests and allegedly performed poorly. He was booked and released for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
At 1:30 a.m. Saturday, officers stopped a 32-year-old woman for speeding near the corner of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard and Northeast Lake Street. She consented to a Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test and then refused other tests. The woman was charged with DUII and cited for speeding, driving uninsured and refusal to take a test for intoxicants. She was detained without bail and was released on Monday.
Saturday at 3:00 a.m. officers stopped a 37-year-old in the 2900 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard after allegedly watching her mini-van speeding. The woman was obviously impaired and consented to standard field sobriety tests. She could not perform all the tests due to her level of impairment. She was charged with DUII and cited for speeding and was released after being booked.
Saturday at 5:20 a.m. Officers pulled over a pickup for an expired registration sticker on Interstate 5 northbound near the Edenbower Boulevard interchange. During the traffic stop, officers noticed signs of impairment. The 19-year-old consented to standard field sobriety tests and reportedly performed poorly. Officers took the driver into custody and transported him to corrections where he was booked and released for DUII.
Saturday night just before 10:00 p.m. officers contacted a 45-year-old Winston man after witnessing him drive out of a parking lot at a business in the 2400 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard while he was allegedly intoxicated. The driver refused standard field sobriety tests. He was arrested and transported to corrections where he reportedly refused a breath test. The officer applied for and was granted a search warrant. It was served and he lodged for DUII. Bail was set at $10,000. The man was released on Sunday.
Two other incidents took place in the 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. hours on Sunday on West Harvard Avenue. Both drivers were booked and released for DUII.
