The Roseburg City Council will hear a presentation on the work of the Umpqua Economic Development Partnership as part of its meeting on Monday night.
UEDP Executive Director Brian Prawitz, a former city councilor, will be the speaker.
Councilors will consider appointing Umpqua Health Alliance Chief Financial Officer Keith Lowther to the Homeless Commission as UHA’s designated representative. UHA CEO Brent Eichman’s term ended on December 31st, and he stepped down from the commission.
Councilors will vote on a resolution authorizing the submission of a Connect Oregon grant application for the Taxiway A Extension Project at the Roseburg Regional Airport.
The council will consider a resolution repealing and replacing a recent resolution regarding City of Roseburg parks rules and regulations. Notes from staff said the city attorney has determined language in November’s resolution regarding an assembly area for soliciting, protesting, proselytizing, petitioning or canvassing may be too restrictive and may infringe on first amendment rights. The new resolution has removed the designated assembly area. It has added a designated distribution area for printed materials in Stewart Park, Fir Grove Park and Sunshine Park.
Other items are on the agenda as well. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the city council chambers on Southeast Douglas Avenue. It can be viewed on the city’s Facebook page or seen later at www.cityofroseburg.org.
