A transient was jailed after a traffic stop at Rice Hill on Wednesday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:40 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of John Long Road. The 27-year-old driver’s license was suspended at the misdemeanor level. The deputy knew the man had a warrant for his arrest on an unrelated case.

The transient was detained on $50,000 bail.
