ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN ON 32 CHARGES RELATED TO ALLEGED BURGLARY

Roseburg Police jailed a man Thursday on 32 charges related to an alleged prior burglary.

An RPD report said on February 5th a victim in the 1800 block of Northeast Reagan Drive woke up to find that his home had been burglarized while he and his wife were inside sleeping. The suspect reportedly stole both of their wallets, and a Glock G43Z 9mm handgun.

The report said the suspect then made multiple purchases around town with the stolen credit cards. Officers conducted follow-up and identified 31-year-old Michael Martin as the suspect. With the help of the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team, officers located Martin in the parking lot of a business in the 300 block of West Harvard Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident at approximately 7:00 pm.

During the arrest, the stolen handgun from the burglary was allegedly located concealed on Martin. Officers also allegedly found and seized over 100 grams of methamphetamine.

Martin was charged with first-degree counts of burglary and theft, nine counts each of fraudulent use of a credit card, ID theft and computer crimes, unlawful possession of a firearm, a felony count of unlawful possession of meth and for attempted unlawful delivery of meth within 1,000 feet of a school. He was detained without bail.
