An Elkton woman was jailed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on sex abuse charges on Wednesday.

Information from DCSO said a juvenile victim reported they were staying at the woman’s house in the 200 block of 2nd Street. The suspect reportedly provided the victim with alcohol and the two then slept in the same bed and had sex. The 35-year-old was contacted at approximately 2:20 p.m. and was charged with second and third-degree counts of sex abuse and for contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor. She was detained without bail. The woman was released on Thursday.
