ZONTA AND UCC TEAM UP ON SATURDAY

February 7, 2024 3:20 a.m.

The Zonta Club of Roseburg and Umpqua Community College are teaming up during Zonta’s Double Donation drive.

On Saturday, residents who bring clothing donations to UCC’s women’s or men’s basketball games are entitled to a free bag of popcorn.

As part of the drive, Zonta donates the clothing to Sunrise Enterprises who benefit by having more clothing for their retail service and achieving the goal of providing inclusion and jobs to those with disabilities. Sunrise then makes a nominal donation to Zonta, to help in their work.

Clothing donated should be clean and lightly used. No shoes, purses or household goods can be accepted.

Game admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids under age 12. UCC will be taking on Clackamas Community College. The woman’s game is at 2:00 p.m. with the men’s contest at 4:00 p.m.

Clothing can also be dropped off at the City of Roseburg Public Library on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard through March 4th.

Zonta is a worldwide organization celebrating over 100 years of honoring and empowering women. Locally the club works to stop human trafficking and provide a hand up for women navigating difficult steps in their lives.
