CAMAS VALLEY MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT, STRANGULATION ON MONDAY

A Camas Valley man was charged with fourth-degree felony assault and strangulation on Monday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:15 a.m. a victim called to say they had been assaulted and strangled by the 35-year-old in the presence of children on Friday afternoon in the 12000 block of Highway 42. The victim had injuries to support their statement and an audio recording of the altercation.

The suspect was contacted in Myrtle Creek. He was ultimately arrested and taken into custody. The man was held on $10,000 bail and was released on Tuesday.
