A Riddle man was jailed after an alleged escape incident on Tuesday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 9:10 p.m. a deputy saw the 38-year old standing in the driveway of a home in the 4000 block of Canyonville Riddle Road in the Riddle area, and knew the man had an active warrant for his arrest. The deputy contacted the man and advised him that he was under arrest. The man allegedly took off running for the front door and then went around the side of the house where he realized the front door was locked.
The deputy challenged the suspect at taser point and he was taken into custody without incident. The warrant was confirmed. The man was transported to corrections where he was charged with third-degree escape and for the warrant. He was detained on $5,000 bail and was released on Wednesday.
