January 24, 2024 3:20 a.m.

The Douglas County Farm Bureau is pleased to announce that it will be awarding up to five $1,000 scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year.

A release said this is for students who are either pursuing a course of study in agriculture or forestry or are children or grandchildren of a voting Douglas County Farm Bureau member. In that case, any major will be considered.

Applicants must be Douglas County high school graduates, either graduating this year or are already enrolled in a higher education institution. Local homeschool students are also eligible to apply. Selection will be based on merit, initiative, and demonstration of interest in forestry or agriculture. Past recipients are eligible to reapply.

The deadline for receiving applications is March 15th. For further information and application requests, contact Holly Michaels at 541-825-3760.
