A female juvenile was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle on Monday afternoon.

A Roseburg Police report said just before 3:10 p.m. officers responded to the accident in the 2300 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The female was hit by a full-sized pickup which was driven by an 80-year old man. The driver said he did not see the juvenile until it was too late.

The female was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for her injuries. She was later taken to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital in Portland. The driver cooperated with the investigation and was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
