A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the south-central Oregon Cascades above 5,500 feet from 10:00 a.m. Saturday to 4:00 a.m. Sunday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said wet snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of up to 10 inches, with higher elevations seeing up to 15 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 miles per hour.
The Advisory area includes higher elevations around Crater Lake.
Forecasters said drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. There is the potential for 1 inch per hour snowfall rates in the afternoon and through the evening.
Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
