In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Umpqua Actors Community Theatre will present 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas.

Based on Jules Verne’s landmark work of science fiction, when a terrifying sea monster is spotted off the coast, renowned scientist Professor Aronnax and fellow explorers set out to investigate. They soon find themselves kidnapped and held under the command of Captain Nemo, creator of the submersible war machine, Nautilus. As they circle the globe aboard the most advanced submarine the world has never seen, they confront giant squids, bizarre sea creatures, and the monsters that lurk below…and within.

20,000 Leagues Under the Seas will be on stage February 1st-18th, playing Thursday through Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for children. They can be purchased by calling 673-2125, at the door, or at www.uact-theatre.com.
