One person was hurt when a vehicle struck a pedestrian and a second vehicle on Sunday afternoon.
A Roseburg Police report said at 2:00 p.m. a 75-year old woman was driving through the parking lot of the Garden Valley Shopping Center in 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard, when she came to the corner between two businesses. Several people were walking across the parking lot in front of her when her vehicle suddenly accelerated, striking one of the pedestrians. The vehicle continued running over the victim and then crashed into a parked car.
Based on several witness accounts and information on scene, it appeared the driver accidently hit the gas instead of the brake, causing the collisions. The pedestrian was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with unknown injuries. They were believed to be non-life threatening.
