Last week housing vice-chairs Senator Dick Anderson of Lincoln City and Representative Vikki Breese-Iverson of Prineville released a memo outlining 6 short-term policy recommendations to boost housing production following the Housing Production Advisory Council’s preliminary set of 59 long-term policy recommendations.
Anderson said, “Every member regardless of party understands that Oregon needs more housing of all types, and we need it now. After countless committee discussions and follow-up meetings, Rep. Breese-Iverson and I came up with 6 practicable steps we can take to catalyze home production right away”.
Breese-Iverson said, “I am hopeful the Governor and our colleagues across the aisle will join us in a true housing renaissance for Oregonians. We must open up land for building, streamline the process, invest in real community assets and then get the hec out of the way”.
