A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 10:00 p.m. Saturday for parts of Douglas County and the south-central Oregon coast.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said periods of freezing rain are expected. Ice accumulations of 0.01 to 0.10 inches with a potential for higher ice accumulations near the Douglas County and Lane County border.
The Advisory area is for northwest Douglas County including the cities of Curtin, Drain, Yoncalla, Elkton, Scottsburg and Reedsport. It applies to portions of Interstate 5 and Highway 38.
Forecasters said freezing rain can quickly make solid surfaces slick and dangerous to travel across. Freezing rain can also weigh down branches and power lines, resulting in property damage or interruptions to power availability.
Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
