An Azalea man was jailed on kidnapping and assault charges on Wednesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 1:00 p.m. deputies responded to a residence in the 5200 block of Upper Cow Creek Road in Azalea. A caller said that 42-year old Brian Dickson had assaulted him and thrown him to the ground. When deputies arrived, the victim was barricaded in the house. He had bloody lacerations on his forearm and his head, and an injured left arm.

It was reported that the suspect had attacked the victim inside the residence. Dickson allegedly wouldn’t let the victim off the ground, even when the victim pled for the suspect to get off him because he was injured. The report said the victim was barred from escaping through violence and intimidation.

Dickson was charged with first-degree kidnapping and fourth-degree assault. He was detained without bail.
