Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Wolf Creek man after an alleged DUII incident early Wednesday.
A DCSO report said just after 12:45 a.m. 29-year old Ricardo Leanos was called in a possibly being an intoxicated driver, in the 100 block of Gazley Bridge Road in the Canyonville area. A deputy observed the man leaving the parking lot of a business and saw alleged violations. The deputy attempted a traffic stop but Leano’s vehicle allegedly accelerated back to the parking lot of the business where the driver reportedly parked his pickup and started walking away.
Units challenged Leanos and he was detained. He reportedly refused standard field sobriety tests and a breath test. A search warrant was applied for and granted. The man allegedly continued to refuse to provide a breath sample. Leanos was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center where he reportedly had to be restrained to get a breath sample.
He was ultimately charged with a felony count of driving under the influence of intoxicants, and for obstruction of governmental justice. Leanos was held on $10,000 bail. He was cited for making an unlawful u turn and an un-signaled turn, for failure to stop before entering a roadway and for refusing to provide a breath sample.
