December 28, 2023 3:10 a.m.

Roseburg Disposal said it is continuing its holiday tradition of collecting Christmas trees for free and are offering the service as a gift to the community.

General Manager Dori John said trees can be returned to nine locations around the Roseburg area. John said there is a $15 charge for trees that are picked up from homes and offices. Those must be cut into 4 foot or shorter lengths for pick-up.

Recycling locations include:

*Legion Field on Northwest Stewart Parkway

*On Northwest Kline Street in front of Hucrest Elementary School

*The corner of Northwest Calkins Avenue and Northwest Jefferson Street

*Totem Market on Northeast Stephens Street in Winchester

*Sherm’s Thunderbird parking lot on Northwest Stewart Parkway

*Abby’s Pizza on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard

*The former Umpqua Auctions location at 1028 Northeast Stephens Street

*On Southeast Rose Street downtown by the former Safeway store

*Redeemer’s Fellowship former cinema parking lot at 3041 West Harvard Avenue

Only trees can be placed in the bins. No ornaments, flocking, plastic stands, or other refuse. Trees will be recycled into mulch, courtesy of the Douglas County Landfill.
