Roseburg School District has once again received the highest level of assurance from its annual independent audit process for the 2022-2023 school year.
An RPS release said this demonstrates a commitment to financial transparency and integrity.
The release said the achievement underscores the district’s consistent and effective use of public funding. This is at least the eighth year in a row that the district has earned this level of assurance from KDP Certified Public Accountants LLP.
Superintendent Jared Cordon expressed pride in the district’s Business Department, commending its high standards in accounting and management of funds.
Cordon said, “The rigorous and required independent auditing process serves as a critical checkpoint to ensuring that taxpayer, state, and federal dollars were spent legally and appropriately”. Cordon said, “Fiscal responsibility is paramount and we want our community to know that every dollar going into our schools is meticulously accounted for”.
The Fiscal Year 2023 audit report was presented to the Board of Directors during the December 13th school board meeting. The district received an “unmodified opinion” which represents the highest assurance level an audit can offer, indicating transparent and accurate financial reporting.
