Roseburg Police jailed a man on the charge of strangulation on Saturday.

An RPD report said at 10:00 p.m. officers responded to a call at a residence in the 1200 block of Northeast Malheur Avenue after a 33-year old had allegedly strangled a victim. Officers had a prior case for the same situation, but that time the suspect had left the home before officers arrived.

The man was taken into custody without incident. He is on parole and his parole officer authorized that he be detained for the new crime as well. The man was jailed without bail.
