A Roseburg man was jailed by Roseburg Police late Friday on the charge of fourth-degree assault.

An RPD report said at 11:30 p.m. the 44-year old allegedly threw a beer can at a victim, striking her in the face in the 900 block of Southeast Roberts Avenue. The victim had a large knot to her head from the impact and reported being in substantial pain. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Bail was set at $6,250. The man was released on Saturday.
