An Air Stagnation Advisory is in effect through Saturday morning for much of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said stagnant air is expected, which may lead to deteriorating air quality.
The advisory area includes central Douglas County and its eastern foothills, Josephine and Jackson counties, and the south central and southern Oregon Cascades.
Forecasters said air stagnation is likely to result in diminishing air quality with time, especially in and near areas with significant sources of air pollution. Diminished air quality is likely to cause health issues for people with respiratory problems if precautions are not taken.
