MYRTLE CREEK MAN JAILED FOR ALLEGED ASSAULT INCIDENTS

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man Thursday for alleged assault incidents.

A DCSO report said on December 5th just after 12:00 p.m. 45-year old Christopher Jones and a victim allegedly got into a disturbance in the 600 block of Bills Road in the Myrtle Creek area. Jones reportedly grabbed the victim by the hair and threw her around. He also allegedly choked her and held up an axe as if he was going to hit her. Jones hid in the house and refused to come out. The victim had injuries to support her statements.

On Thursday shortly after 4:30 p.m., units responded to the same location for another disturbance. Deputies made contact with Jones who denied all allegations the victim made regarding the first incident. He advised that the two had never been in a physical fight before. Upon being taken into custody, Jones was allegedly found to be in possession of a violation amount of methamphetamine.

Jones was charged with 4th degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, strangulation, menacing, and harassment. He was cited for the drug violation. Jones was held on $10,000 bail.
