MYRTLE CREEK MAN DIES IN SINGLE-VEHICLE WRECK SUNDAY

A Myrtle Creek man died in a single-vehicle wreck on Sunday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 4:40 p.m. 26-year old Cody Hagle was driving a sedan eastbound in the 5000 block of North Myrtle Road in the Myrtle Creek area when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree that was approximately 10 feet off the roadway on the southbound side of the road. A witness was following directly behind the vehicle and told a deputy that she saw it leave the roadway and strike the tree.

Law enforcement and fire personnel came to the scene and found Hagle unconscious and not breathing in the driver seat of the vehicle. EMS personnel from Umpqua Valley Ambulance arrived and declared Hagle deceased. The medical examiner took possession of the body.

The sedan was towed away.
