WINTER STORM WARNING UPDATE

December 2, 2023 11:00 a.m.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 10:00 p.m. Saturday for the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou mountains.

An update from forecasters said heavy wet snow is expected, with additional snow accumulations of up to 10 inches forecast. Winds will gust as high as 40 miles per hour.

The Warning is for to elevations above 4,500 feet. This includes Diamond Lake Junction, Crater Lake and Willamette Pass, and applies to highways 230, 62 and 138, and parts of Highway 140 in the high Cascades.

Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

Travel is strongly discouraged due to dangerous conditions. Those who must drive should keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets, food, water, medications and a fully charged phone with them.
