A Tri-City man is jailed after allegedly eluding police early Thursday.

A Myrtle Creek Police report said at 1:15 a.m. an officer allegedly observed the 40-year old traveling 86 miles per hour on South Pacific Highway near Crest Drive. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle reportedly continued all the way to a business near exit 103 next to Interstate 5 before yielding.

The driver was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle and was detained on $2,500 bail.
