Oregon State Police arrested a man on a charge of hit and run, following a single-vehicle wreck Wednesday night.

An OSP report said shortly after 9:30 p.m. a pickup failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 138W and Highway 38 in Elkton. The vehicle went through the guardrail and drove off an approximately 50-foot embankment, landing on its undercarriage on Schad Road.

The vehicle came to an uncontrolled rest and the driver fled the scene.  He was located later, approximately 1.5 miles away, lying in a ditch. He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center, where he was admitted for medical care.
