On Tuesday evening at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team arrested an alleged fentanyl dealer on multiple charges.

DINT Commander, Lieutenant Rick McArthur said detectives were conducting an investigation into the activities of 39-year old Timothy Hobbs of Glide and interrupted a suspected drug deal occurring in the parking lot of a business in the 2100 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard in Roseburg. McArthur said with the help of officers from the Roseburg Police Department, Hobbs was detained after he drove into the parking lot.

A search of Hobbs’ allegedly revealed approximately 4.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine, as well as a spring assisted dagger and a loaded .38 revolver, both concealed on his person. McArthur said as a prior convicted felon, Hobbs is prohibited from possessing the dagger or the firearm.

A search of Hobbs’ vehicle allegedly revealed approximately 26.3 grams of suspected fentanyl along with other drug paraphernalia.

Hobbs was charged with unlawful possession. delivery and manufacture of fentanyl-a Schedule II Controlled Substance, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm and for unlawful possession of a firearm. Hobbs was detained on $150,000 bail.
