Detectives are renewing their request for information as to the whereabouts of a homicide suspect who allegedly killed a Grants Pass man last Monday.
Lieutenant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said 19-year old Gauge Douglas James Main of Riddle is wanted in connection to the homicide of 20-year old Devonte Lovell Clark. O’Dell said a felony warrant has been issued for Main’s arrest. He was last known to be in northern California following the homicide.
On Monday, November 20th, shortly after 11:30 p.m., 911 dispatchers received information about a shooting which had taken place in the area of Main Street and East Third Avenue in Riddle.
O’Dell said deputies arrived on the scene to discover that Clark had died at that location. A second victim, 29-year old Killian Mavity, also of Grants Pass, sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.
Main fled the scene of the homicide after reportedly stealing a 2017 Honda Civic 4-door sedan with Oregon license plate 276PAT, which has since been recovered in California.
Detectives say Main is considered to be armed and dangerous. Sheriff John Hanlin has officially enlisted the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Taskforce in apprehending Main. Anyone with information which may lead to his arrest is urged to contact DCSO at 440-4471.
The Douglas County Major Crime’s Team is continuing its investigation of the homicide. The investigation is being led by DCSO. The team consists of investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, Roseburg Police Department and Oregon State Police working in consultation with the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.
