Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a woman after an alleged theft and disorderly conduct incident on Wednesday.

A DCSO report said at about 10:20 a.m. a deputy had been dealing with the 45-year old for over an hour attempting get her help near the corner of Northeast Stephens Street and Northeast Pleasant Avenue, just north of Roseburg. The woman was going to leave with staff from Adapt, but at the last minute refused. Other units were departing when a victim informed the deputy that the suspect had stolen the keys to his trailer, vehicle, motorcycle and more. The deputy asked the woman for the keys. She admitted to having them but said the victim had given them to her. The deputy told her that if she did not give the keys back, she would be arrested.

The woman then reportedly ran across Stephens Street, causing a traffic hazard. She went into a nearby business, where she was taken into custody.

The suspect was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and third- degree theft. She was detained without bail.
