A Myrtle Creek woman was arrested following an alleged burglary and theft on Monday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 12:30 p.m. a deputy responded to a motel in the 500 block of South Pine Street in Myrtle Creek. The deputy was given a list of items that were reportedly taken from a supply closet during the night. He reviewed surveillance video and identified the 45-year old who was allegedly seen walking into the closet multiple times with a backpack.

The report said the suspect had been called in for violating a restraining order on Sunday. The deputy learned that the woman was staying at Stanton Park in Canyonville. When contacted, the suspect reportedly admitted to violating the restraining order by contacting the petitioner. During an interview she allegedly admitted to taking the items from the business and said she had sold them to a man.

The woman, identified as Amber Nash, was charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and for a restraining order violation. She was detained on $5,000 bail.
