A Roseburg man was jailed after an Emergency Room arrest on Saturday.

A Roseburg Police report said at 3:20 p.m. 30-year old Earl Kelso went to CHI Mercy Medical Center on Northwest Stewart Parkway for a warm place to stay and did not have a medical reason for being admitted.

When he was told he couldn’t stay, Kelso allegedly refused to leave and started shouting. After being told about 20 times to leave, Kelso reportedly shoved all the equipment off of the Triage desk onto a nurse. A patient who had already been admitted to the ER saw the suspect allegedly going after the nurse, so ran across the hall and tackled Kelso to keep him away. Kelso was detained by staff but reportedly punched a nurse during the commotion.

Kelso was charged with fourth-degree assault, harassment, and second degree counts of disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. He was also detained for a warrant. Kelso was held on $26,250 bail.
