Two people from Bandon were arrested after an incident in Curtin late Friday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 5:15 p.m. a deputy was out with a woman in the 200 block of Bear Creek Road. The woman was walking toward a vehicle. A man was observed holding his nose and screaming. The deputy observed that the man’s nose was bleeding heavily. The woman was also yelling.

An investigation determined the woman had punched the man while they were driving on Interstate 5. The female admitted to punching the victim. The man said his pain was a 10 on a scale of 1-10, but declined medical attention. The man had his license suspended at the felony level and admitted to driving. He was cited in lieu of custody.

The woman was transported to the Douglas County Jail where she was booked on a charge of fourth-degree assault and then was released.
