A Riddle man was jailed after an alleged menacing incident on Friday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 6:45 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Smith Street in Riddle. A victim reported that 50-year old Wiatt Preston had pointed a gun at him. An investigation determined that Preston had strangled and pointed a BB gun at the victim. There were witnesses to the incident and some of it had been captured on video.

The report said the BB gun looked similar to a real pistol and the victim believed it to be a 9MM. Preston was charged with menacing, strangulation and unlawful use of a weapon. He was detained without bail.
