Roseburg Police jailed a man after a disorderly conduct incident on a busy street Wednesday morning.

An RPD report said just after 10:45 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Northeast Stephens Street after callers said a man was acting erratically. When officers arrived, the man allegedly brandished a large knife and threatened officers. The suspect continued to act erratically and reportedly ran into traffic, causing multiple vehicles to have to stop for him.

A deputy from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office who responded to assist, deployed his taser and the suspect was taken into custody. The man allegedly resisted arrest but was ultimately transported to Corrections.

40-year old Randy De Acosta, a transient, was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, third-degree escape, resisting arrest, menacing, and for carrying a concealed weapon. De Acosta was detained on $23,750 bail.
