A Drain man was cited for a weapon violation following an incident on Friday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 9:35 a.m. dispatchers received information that a suspicious man was standing outside of the U.S. Bank in the 200 block of North 1st Street in Drain, with a gun. A caller said the suspect appeared to be high.
When the deputy arrived, the man had already left the area in a sedan. One of the reporting parties followed the suspect to the 400 block of Harlan Avenue. The deputy contacted the 29-year old and discovered that he was a convicted felon. The man was charged with possession of a weapon by certain felons. He was issued a citation in lieu of being taken into custody. The firearm was seized as evidence.
