The body of a missing Sutherlin man has been found.

Lieutenant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday night shortly before 9:30 p.m. 911 dispatchers received information that a deceased body had been located in the area of Old Highway 99 North near Wilbur Road.

O’Dell said deputies arrived on the scene and confirmed the presence of a deceased body, which was identified as 49-year old Billy Wayne Whitehead.

DCSO is conducting a death investigation alongside the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

O’Dell said Whitehead had been reported as a missing person to the Sutherlin Police Department on November 2nd.
