GREEN DOT RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT THROUGH NOVEMBER 17TH

Beginning in 1985, the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife entered into an agreement to restrict motorized vehicles on a portion of forest roads in the High Cascades Ranger District during the General Cascade Bull Elk Season.

A Forest Service release said the Upper Rogue Cooperative Travel Management Area (Green Dot) road restriction is in effect through November 17th.

The objectives of the Green Dot restrictions are to:

*Promote quality hunting

*Minimize harassment of wildlife

*Maintain adequate bull escapement and

*Protect soils and wildlife habitat

Green Dot maps will be available at:

*Forest Road junctions within the Green Dot area

*ODFW’s office on East Gregory Road in Central Point

*The RRSNF’s website
