Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged attempted theft on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 4:30 p.m. the 28-year old allegedly tried to push a cart full of $446 in merchandise out of Sherm’s Thunderbird Market in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway.

The suspect was stopped by loss prevention staff and was detained until police arrived.

The man was charged with second-degree theft. He was detained on $5,000 bail.
