WinCo Foods is set to open the company’s 140th store Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. in Roseburg.

Company spokesperson Noah Fleisher said the new 72,000 square-foot store is at 2757 Northwest Stewart Parkway. It will be open 24 hours a day.

Fleisher said, “We’re very excited to bring a new employee-owned store to the people of Roseburg”. Fleisher said, “With more than 20 stores in the state, we consider this our backyard. We know our customers here and better than that, they know us”.

150 full and part-time employees have been hired, with most all of them being from the local area. A company release said the store will feature WinCo’s trademark “Wall of Values” at the entrance, as well as a wide assortment of grocery items along with a full produce section and meat and deli departments.

Another WinCo trademark at the new store is the 700+ item bulk foods department. Selections in bulk foods can be purchased in whatever quantities the customer desires and include a multitude of rice varieties, dried beans, pastas, baking ingredients, cereals, snacks, candies and pet foods. Organic, gluten-free and natural food items are available as well.

WinCo is based in Boise, Idaho, with its origins dating back to 1967. Approximately 20,000 employees work at WinCo stores.

WinCo takes debit cards, checks, cash and EBT for payment, but does not take credit cards. Shoppers bag their own groceries.

While the store is scheduled to open for the first time Monday at 9:00 a.m., Fleisher told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that if there is a line of people waiting to get in, the opening time will be earlier.
