Roseburg Police jailed a man after an incident at the Stewart Park Golf Course on Tuesday.
Just after 9:50 a.m. officers responded to a report of transients driving golf carts around the property in the 1100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. Employees had contacted the men and asked them to leave. One of the men was located at the golf course and was allegedly noticeably under the influence of an unknown substance.
Bystanders said the man was heckling patrons in the area, and at one point had charged after an employee on foot. When contacted by officers, the man attempted to flee on foot. Officers caught up with the suspect who allegedly resisted being taken into custody. The man was detained after a brief struggle and was identified as 25-year old Jacob Chaffee.
He was charged with second-degree counts of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, and with resisting arrest. Chafee was detained without bail.
