Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office cited a man following an alleged pursuit incident Saturday night.

A DCSO report said just after 8:00 p.m. 49-year old Keith O’Dell allegedly ran a red light in front of a deputy at the intersection of Northeast Stephens Street and Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard. The deputy was able to overtake the suspect vehicle as it pulled into a business in the 1500 block of Stephens at a high rate of speed. The deputy activated his lights as he was driving into the parking lot. O’Dell’s pickup then reportedly headed north on Stephens. The deputy pursued the vehicle for a mile and a half during which time it was allegedly in and out of its lane and cutting corners with speeds varying from the low 40s to the 50s.

The report said the vehicle pulled into a business in the 2900 block of Stephens and O’Dell bailed on foot and was running around in the roadway. He was chased and a taser was ultimately deployed. While talking to the suspect, the deputy developed probable cause for DUII. The man was taken to corrections where he performed standard field sobriety tests and provided a blood alcohol level of .10 percent.

O’Dell was cited for eluding in a vehicle and on foot, reckless driving and for DUII. He was cited and released to a family member at his residence.
