On Thursday, Governor Tina Kotek ordered flags at Oregon public institutions to be flown at half-staff pursuant to a Presidential Proclamation.

A release from the Governor’s Office said it was in response to what she called, “the senseless acts of violence perpetrated in Lewiston, Maine”. The flag should be flown at half-staff until Monday.

Kotek said, “This act of violence is absolutely devastating. My heart goes out to the victim’s families, the Lewiston community and every American who has been shaken by this tragedy”.
